I love the latest TV ad by BMW and particularly the music, a classical piece which may have been wrritten specially for it but I was wondering if any classical buffs out there can tell me who composed it and what, if anything, is it called?.

I love this Ad and the music is awesome. The music is by Guru and its a piece called "Maintaining Force"

Hmm lots of that is based on classical pieces. Beethoven's 9th for the pizzicato strings, and I'm sure there's a bit of Carl Orf's Carmina Burana in there too

As tfboy said, there's a lot of Beethoven's 9th (2nd Movement) in there - must admit I didn't spot the Carmina.

Was raving about how good this piece of music is to a friend..

BMW do pick some quality tunes (the Prodigy one was well chosen as well)

One thing is finding out the track... next thing is getting hold of it!

the 'core' of the track is based on a part of beethoven's 9th symphony (would be interesting to know if the person that made the tune used ludwig's piece as a creative starting block upon which to build their own variation or decided to rip it off in due to lack of inspiration?).
