camping is top notch in the new forest.... me and a couple of mates from school used to go during the summer holidays for weeks at a time... we stumbled accross some wierd druid people in the clearing doing some kind of ritualistic chanting:O

99% sure I will be attending depending on dog sitter will have swmbo and hc in tow as well. Can you post more details about starting point etc so I can locate a conveniant camp site? tia

Starting point will be Ower Services (just north of M27 J2 and at the bottom of the A36). McD's there for anyone wanting breakfast and I'm sure Mark will (eventually :P) decide on a start time I'm guessing that people in the less economical vehicles will be wanting an idea of local Tesco/Shell/BP stations too?

If the treasure hunt takes place, I'm proposing sending cars off from the services 5 minutes apart to ensure that we keep traffic and cheating to a minimum, and it'll also mean people can go when they're ready!

For those of you who want petrol stations I will try to compile a more complete list in the near future, however there are the following on the way or en route:

- A Shell station at Burley services on the A31 (one on both sides).

- Esso on both sides of the M27 at Rownhams services

- A BP on the way into Lymington.

- Shell in Lymington (33 Milford Road)
