:orb_lol:

Sherwood Forest...we could've all dressed up and played at goodies and baddies

Ive just looked on mappoint... just shy of 300 miles.. yet mappoint still insists it would only take 4 hours to get to southampton :rofl:

RAC reckons to 4 hrs 45 minutes, from Bury to Soton...

RAC reckons to 4 hrs 45 minutes, from Bury to Soton...

yeah.. and theyve never driven the M6, or the M25 carpark

Where does the M25 come into it?

M6, M5 to J11A, A417 / A419 to Swindon M4 J15, M4 to J13, A34 to Southampton

Edit: or you could do M6, M6 toll, M42, M40, A34 all the way but I think the M42 bit is liable to be a bottleneck.

well it's alot bloody longer than that from the Northern lakes! I can see scotland across the bay at Workington!

lol......

Southampton to Rochdale is about 3 1/2 hours going M27->M3->A34->M40->M42->M6 and then picking up the Manchester ring road, imvhe....

Chris

The abbreviations are getting longer...imvhe...i'm guessing "in my very ? experience"

I did this exact route last Saturday from 0930 (From the A34 (Didcot) to Cheadle)

It took 3 hours, not a spot of traffic

HTH

Edit: - in reverse obviously but the right way round at 1700 and it still took 3 hours :)

In my very humble experience.......

Chris

:eek::eek::eek:

It's only 127 miles so should be doable in a little under 2 hours with no traffic!

Chris

In a Kia? :P

And averaging 60 is pretty good going, and must involve quite a lot of travel at illegal speeds :nono:

It's motorway door to door so averaging 60 is a piece of cake, imvhe :P Travelling at mildly illegal speeds, I would guess that you could bring that down by 15-20 minutes ;)

Chris

Ok so I was 4/5 the way there :P

Hang on, for one thing we started at Wantage, we also stopped for petrol. Rac say: - Total estimated time: 3 h 12 min!!!!!

So wasn't bad going by my book :P

Chris

And of course I would never speed :orb_angel

Starting at Wantage shaves 2 miles off the journey () so that's one heck of a fuel stop ;)

Chris

ps RAC are useless :D

Oh s*d off :P:P:P

Hang on, for one thing we started at Wantage

Going south down the A338 and join the M4 at hungerford (J14) would have saved you half an hour!!!

Not in the Kia ;)
