Following on from that last thread - I hope your all happy now.

A simple discussion turned nasty by some irrelevant individuals - no hard feelings if you put your hands up and appologise

If not :finger: you'll not be on my xmas card list.

And what's all this about me being a loon?!?!

Now, where are my string backed leather driving gloves? :D

Chris

I enjoyed the last thread Welshy :D

The new BMW 2.0TDI has around 176bhp or P.S. cant remember which, but it

Yes very impressive + RWD + great MPG + very low C02.

This is now the new benchmark no doubt VW/Audi Group & Merc will step to the mark.

On a slightly differnent note earlier this week I saw a 50-70k BMW 535d Touring SE up for £18,999 Trade. Thats a very low price those who buy the Focus ST perhaps didnt even think such a machine could be bought for such little wonga.

535tdi BMW is a great car. I

Yes and a small boot.

Mind you if I would be prepared to spend £20k on a car and the 535d or 335d touring were available I dont think I could not buy one.

Then again for £10k less I could buy an E55 Merc or a E39 M5 quicker more thirst less cash to lose looks - well I think the 335d & 535d look very nice ditto M5 and the E55.

All these cars are really family cars and could be run for many years and very viable

I really enjoyed the other thread.

I didn't get the opportunity to reply in the other 1 cause I was too slow.

you sayd that we could easily buy an M5 or something for 5-7k and spend the money we saved on extra servicing insurance etc, but the reason I got the vRS was for good fuel economy, a fair bit of power and a nice warranty (which you wouldn't have on an old M5)

Also on 1 post you said "Come on get real man" and it just reminded me of Ali G "keep it real"!!!

I imagine that places like Warranty Direct could offer you an aftermarket warranty for it....

Ah, if only I have the money!

Chris

Oh God not you again. Do you do anything apart from bore other people with your trainspotter like fixation on meaningless car statistics Welshy?

i thought this was a skoda forum ?

I can see many reasons to buy a vRS from reading lifetime of posts and threads but i do feel that when it comes to "who will go quickest" threads i find it interesting read (although sometimes a bit OTT) however i wont really take it in as "the definitive table of which is faster" as its all down to the driver at the end of the day.. im sure chavvy's with a corsa 1.1 or something can ounce you anywhere anyday (except perhaps motorways) cause they probably dont care less about other people on the road or their car for that matter..

Im sure my friend in his 106gti or slower can go alot faster than any of you thro london roads as he actually rarely stops... he somehow always get green on lights (or plow thro yellows) and always find a lane that keeps him moving..?? cuts traffic like butter..

I think if it really does go behond the line people should step in and say but smiting anyone even if they have a slight hint of "vRS beat this car" is a little harsh... Plus if you think they post babble let them be (like me if you dislike what im saying :D), its not like it has offended you or devalued the image of Briskoda.

*Phew!* Anyway, back on topic.. I thought there was a PD 130 and 150 version..... where did the 140 and 170 come from?

130, 150, 160 is the 1.9TDi, 140 & 170 are the newer 2.0 TDi

HTH.

Oh for f**ks sake!

Can't you just let it die?

i thought this was a skoda forum ?

and a thread about Golfs, not BMWs ?

Ohh.. They have enough models dont they! No wonder i see at least 20 golfs everytime I drive.. And im preuming 130, 150 and 160's are same engine and everything just ecu'd differently? Thanks for clearing that up.

and a thread about Golfs, not BMWs ?

Yeah and it's in the Fabia section of the Skoda forum.

I give up, I really do.

Ohh.. They have enough models dont they!

And that's excluding the 90, 100, 105, 110 and 115 PD engines that are also all 1.9 PD TDI's

Yes many to choose from.

However VW claim that the Turbo is bigger for the 150 & 160 units with bigger intercoolers & much stronger con rods to deal with the added stress.

What you may find interesting is that the torque difference between the 130/150/160 is a few lbf this is because the VW group realise that the clutch lonevity will be decreased if it were higher &/or would need a costlier clutch i.e. heavy duty but this would then possibly put off some buyers due to the heavy nature of operation of the clutch.

And that's excluding the 90, 100, 105, 110 and 115 PD engines that are also all 1.9 PD TDI's

Chris

Erm.... 1.9 TDi's but not necessarily PD's....

Anyways, who wants a Golf150 if it's nothing to torque about :D

...coat....leaving....now-ish.....etc.

The 150TDI is much more petrol like according to the articles I have read it revs much more freely and is much quicker than the 130TDI apparently.

Downside is there is more turbo lag upside for all you remappers is that it will produce a lot more power & torque if you so wish.

Erm.... 1.9 TDi's but not necessarily PD's....

I believe all the ones listed are available as PD engines, although the 90 and 110 were also available as old-skool non-PD diesels....

Non PD engines ran out in 1999, excluding at course the SDi which is a venerable unit.

IIRC someone on here thought it was brisk ROFLOL hahaha.

That'll be Jon's old SDI - suitably brisk for his below average driving ability ;)
