Got a quote for getting the rear end of the furby window's tinted, for

My only thoughts are it might look a bit silly with just the rear and not the front tinted, but it's hard to say without knowing how dark a medium tint is - the place doing it may be able to offer it up so you can see? Only other thing I'd say is night time rear vision may be reduced, again depending on what the tint level is.

On the Scooby I believe we had 30% on the sides and 22% on the rear window...

Chris

Make sure you use a reputable, decent company too - bad tints bubble & peel over time & look awful :thumbdwn:

Ill make sure I check the tints first then before they do them, make sure they aint too silly & too dark

Think it'll look nice..! but think its better if you tinted the rear sides too, perhaps in a lighter shade maybe? Im not 100% sure about the price though..

Aye, getting the sides and rear done, but nothing infront of the driver or in line( ie front windows).

Is the price too high do you reckon?

Price sounds about right to me - think I paid 200 to have mine done (including front windows)....

Chris

Lol is it was rear sides too?? then yeah the deals alright but like SteVRs said check if its a decent tinter ;)

I orignally used some tint to scrib out the word fabia to stick on the rear centre brake light, so when I was braking it lit the word up , but it had bubbles on it. After spending about 30mins trying to get bubbles out i tore the whole thing up cause i got so impaitent!! but I thought it looked nicee.. perhaps they could scrib yours too for a few pennie entras? :D

I was going to get a mate to make me up a vinal mask for it so it spelt PEMBO but after a bit of looking around saw that this wasnt legal as it covers the brake light  :( So I think Ill leave that bit tbh

Going in 5 mins to get it done so if anyone has anything else to say say it fast :P

Ah yes but using tint is fine since the whole window is gonna be covered anyway. It is tricky tho if you do it yourself with tint..................

Crap, what happens to the big BRISKODA.NET sticker in my window? Theyll have to take it off I assume?

Is there anyway I can salvage it?

Edit: It isnt peeling off easily :( Can they tint over it?

Personally I wouldn't go just for the back windows I think it looks odd. But if you like it then go for it. Does the price include them removing the entire window and tinting completely?? As it always looks bad when you roll the window down and there is a gap in the tint around the edge.

Well, the car is getting the tints on at the mo,

Added advantage to rear being done - makes driver less photogenic to cameras (Especially those taking rear facing photos ;) ):D

Well, got them done and they look spot on! Really happy with them.

So, set about putting the door lock pins I got from the dealer on (trying to follow the stupid instructions) and got one of them stuck:( So, tried pulling, twisting pulling some more - until... I slipped and caught the window:O Took a very small chunk out of it, which is pi55ing me off something rotton. So Im going to go back and get that window re done

Also, I got some wind deflectors from the dealer. But I presumed they were the ones that slot under the window but they dont from what I can see they stick onto the door :( Not my cup of tea. Unless someone knows of a way to make them fit nicer? Otherwise PM me if you want them

All in all Im having a crap day and need some chocolate :(

Oh, pics will be up in a mo

This is the good side. Of course I will sort out the brisky sticker and get one made up for the rear when I can. And Ill also pop out in the freezing cold and take a photo of the "bad" side

They look spot on mate........ You know it's made me want to get my windows done now. ;)

We had rear privacy glass in the IS200 we had..... Looks awesome on dark coloured cars.

Cheers

Dave.

Look nice Mike!

Ta, Just a shame about me slipping with the pliers. As you can see in the pic its hardly noticable, but its only one window so should only cost about £30ish

Only problem is that on that door the lock pin is stuck and alot lower than it should be :(

Still, quite happy with it, just hope its not "too" dark at night:O
