vRS front bumper / spoiler for 4x4 estate.

Featured Replies

Been thinking about getting one for some time but was wondering how much more vunerable to damage it is compared to the standard bumper. How much lower and further forward is the bottom lip?

I do like the look of the vRS bumper but don't want to be worried about scraping it all the time.

How many people have changed their bumper for a vRS one?

What do you reckon? Should I get one?

This is what mine looked like a year ago - it's much worse now BUT you can only see it if you lay on the floor and look up so not a major issue really.

I assume you have the standard 4x4 suspension? If so I don't think you'll have any problems - the vRS is much lower.

I have changed my springs for Golf 4Motion estate 'sport' springs (OEM ones). The ride height is lower than standard but not as low as the vRS.

I have the vRS bumper on my 4x4, lowered on coilovers to around vRS height. I've only scraped it once at a junction where the side road was at a steep angle to the main road.

I used to have the H&R springs but found them too low and hard. Must be getting old! Since I changed the springs for the 4Motion ones much more comfortable and no need to slow down to walking pace for all the speed humps that keep springing up.

Speed humps are no problem on the coilovers (which are H&R comfort line), as I said I've only scraped the bumper once and it was a very awkward road; it was covered in scrape marks from other cars.

I haven't checked the price of the grills yet. I'm sure the bumper was about

i paid

I've only caught mine once. I was reversing off a steep drive and the front caught at the last minute. The time I find you need real care is parking up against a kerb as the bumper is often lower.

I scrape mine every day coming out of the car park :(

Used to catch mine all the time on my MKI.

MKII's just fine :)

I have to slow down if theres a matchstick on the road in my MKI it catches everything
