I'm new to this forum, I've had a 2003 Octavia Ambiente 1.9tdi from new

which has covered nearly 80K very economical (60 mpg) miles with only

one problem so far. The electric windows stopped working along with

interior lights and security lights on doors, along with cigarette

lighter and central boot locking. A Skoda garage diagnosed a faulty

Make sure you buy one with the same part number as your current one. I would imagine it would need to be coded to the options that you have on your car, no big deal if you have the equipment.

Thanks for replying Stu. Just to update and for anyone else with the same problem I took my car (Octavia 1.9 tdi 2003) to my local small garage and the mechanic there replaced the unit in less than ten minutes and charged

Extract the light switch unit - it just requires to be levered out carefully with a screwdriver inserted around the edges.

The correct way is to push and turn the light swtich kn0b which will release the latches and allow you to remove the light switch without breaking it.
