I'm looking at the Mk1 Octavia vRS estate as a potential next car and have a few questions...

1. Can anybody tell me what features were introduced after launch and when?

2. What optional extras are worth looking out for?

3. Did they have xenons at any time or is this just on the top end diesels?

4. Is the gearbox 5 or 6 speed? I read somewhere it has a 5 speed box which surprises me as the Leon Mk1 Cupra had 6 gears.

5. Is the engine equipped with a K03s turbo as in the Leon Cupra or K03 as in an Ibiza Cupra R?

6. Does the Octavia have a single or dual SMIC and have many people fitted custom FMIC options?

Very surprised about the gearbox. Oh well, not that fussed on 6 gears anyway.

Obviously I know what a cruise control stalk looks like but with xenons I'm presumably looking for headlamp washers on the front bumper which I believe is a legality for OEM xenons.

Easiest way to tell if they are xenons or not is there is no level adjustment on the light switch.
