Post your dyno results .. ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just got my Octy RS chipped and dynoed. Heres the result. 201/hp 207lb-ft(282nm) on octane 95. Other than chip the car is 100% standard.

Just thinking actually, in the light of the recent thread regarding transmission losses, perhaps if everyone could post wheel power, fly power (& hence losses) as well as torque figures, could get an average for the Octavia 1 then. :)

i doubt very much if anybody on briskoda has been on an engine dyno to measure the output of thier engine.... the engine has to be removed from the car to do so..

rolling road flywheel figures are purely guesswork calculated by a little piece of software within the RR:eek:

Figures from Star Performance just over a year ago(before I got the car)

at 5860 rpm

Norm power 238.5 bhp

engine output 247 bhp

wheel output 189 bhp

drag output 58 bhp

at 4830 rpm

max torque 224 lbf-ft

Stumpy

 plonker

 plonker

:iagree:

193bhp@ fly at 4672rpm

181bhp@ wheels

242.7 lb/ft@ 2800rpm

that was at awesome

oh yeah.. the plonker has had another silly idea

has anybody ever seen one of these?

I've just had my octy vrs on the rollers today (due to an ongoing work's mickey taking of a mates astra turbo that only made 138bhp first time, then 183.1bhp after hose repairs ), at least mine was consistent over the three runs we did .

Max was 181.9 flywheel with 150 ish at the wheels and about 172 lb/ft (He lost the box with all the temp info etc while editing the scaling for me to find out exactly how much it made, oh well :()

Roll on remap time..................

Can i ask who that was with? 22bhp increase over standard don't sound much,Is this what i should be expecting after a remap?

:iagree:

I dont agree, a touch pedantic maybe but I aint one to comment..lol

When I worked for BP we had ten like that ( some a lot bigger ) for fuel testing :)

17456.attachHere is mine...

here's mine from last week at awesome, only mod is a pd160 intake

File0001.jpg

and no the other standard furby's didn't hit anywhere near these figures

155 at the fly

143 at the wheels

270 ft lbs

I think as Bill Brock says..........Dyno Lottery TM!;)

Wow, seems very good., almost too good?

Does seem good but the FMIC should give quite a bit of power and the turbo back should give a bit too.

I've been wondering whether to fit an FMIC myself but i don't think the insurance guy would like it.

Have been told that if you divided wheel power by 0.85 you get a ballpark figure for engine power. This roughly calculates ok on mine, but some of the claimed engine outputs on here seem very high compared to the wheel Hp reading.Have i been informed wrong or are some just adding figures till they get what they want to hear?
