:D Wish me luck!

Crikey , that's a lot of rot.

I really think that's beyond hope

Good luck. You are definitely going to need it!

:) It's been sitting in a field since 1992, I added some fuel, fitted a battery and she fired up almost instantly after I primed the fuel pump! If I were sane I'd save the mechanicals and scrap the rest. I'm definately not quite sane, and these cars are pretty rare now so I'm going to restore it. :D

That really does look like its gone too far imho. Keep us updated with the progress though, should be a nice project!!!

Somebody appears to have stolen the original engine and replaced it with a sewing machine! The b*****ds!

 scary looking rust holes , good luck with that

Big job

Let us all know how it goes

Was there a slight breeze that dislodged these panels???

Ahhhh, poor thing (the car that is).

ahh, time to get down the cash and carry for a "family sized" tub of p40!

:P LOL at the sarcy comments!:D

:) It's gone too far by normal standards I admit. If it was something like an Astra or a Mondeo I wouldn't give it a 2nd look. These old heaps are pretty dear to me though and are now rare and getting rarer. Unlike a lot of classic Skoda fans I don't pretend they are better than other cars. However, to me their character, quirkiness, basicness, toughness and their ability to provide fun transport without needing outright speed is very addictive to me. If someone such as me with my enthusiasm and a workshop to use isn't going to restore them who will?

:) Please don't let anyone scrap a classic Skoda without contacting me. I'll either save it my self or try and find someone that can. Thank you.

It will be worth the effort and please post some pics after the restoration process.;)

Looks a real challenge but then restoring things without it wouldn't be fun. :D

Well I certainly would if a suitable one came my way, and I'm on the hunt for an older car project for this year.

Will do if I can't ;)

Well I certainly would have a go at restoring one, if I get lucky and find one I'll let you know if I can't save it myself ;)

Have you made a start yet Dave? Can you still get parts ?(sills , inner wings etc , either pattern or N.O.S?) What do you intend to do , replace entire panels , or take it right back , cut out rot as much as possible then weld in patches of new steel?

PS Ive seen cars much worse than that restored!!

Gone to far? Nah its only metal.

The chap who did my Pick up has made his own floor, transmission tunnel, sills and bulkhead for his MK1 Escort as it was rotten. Will be stong as an ox when its done.

:)Not yet. I've recently put my 1985 yellow Mk1 Rapid 120 on the road that I restored, next restoration is my 1988 120L5, then this 120LSE.

;)Getting there, slowly, but surely!

I have always wanted to restore an old car, but never got the space (live in town with no garden etc)

But good luck to you, looking forward to the restoration process pictures :)
