Broken laptop - source of spares?

My younger son has dropped his Advent 7060 laptop and cracked the lid at the hinges. No other damage. But I can't find a source of a new lid. Any ideas? (PCW, where I bought it, are no help:mad::mad:)

There appears to be quite a few spare parts going on ebay, there are a few damaged laptops going for spares minus HDD and battery fairly cheaply.

I just typed "advent 7060" into the ebay search.

eBay is usually the way. Buy another one with a broken LCD or other part that doesn't affect yours. Can often be got for very little cash.

I had a 7079 laptop, same problem. Hinges broke and back light kept going off. Get it sorted on the house insurance if you can - I did. Just told them what happened and sent it off to one of their repairers. The laptop was worth
