Featured Replies

It could be in my head but since i put on the evom v flow induction kit i think there is a slight pause before the power kicks in it wasnt like this when just had a pipercross filter?

im thinkng about taking it off,i thought these things were supposed to give you more air and more power?

anyone?

could it be that the vflow has smoothed out the power surge. It might just be the characteristics of that mod.

have a look mate see what you think.

Where?!

hmmm..... I've heard a lot of after market induction kits actually decrease performance on VAG 1.8T motors. The oem airbox is rated quite highly. Usually a green cotton filter replacement and the interior vains smoothing out is all that's needed.

The other issue is that some custom air filters are oil coated which buggers the MAF up over time........ again decreasing performance.

Is there any conclusive proof 'smoothing the vanes' is a worthwhile mod?

I think is subjective to be honest. I havn't done it my self, trying to figure out if it's a design feature to have them there or wether it's just a result of how the airbox is manufactered.

I tend to do a lot of research before I do mods to the car.

Thats a fair point, probably there for rigidity.

Ive done it and found that it made no difference what so ever. Plus it took me ages to do it properly.

So in other words dont bother :D
