Meguiars Gold Classe Wax?

Featured Replies

Hey all

Does anybody use this? After years of using AutoGlym Super Resin Polish on my cars I decided to try the Meguiars , now that the full range is stocked in Halfords. What is this like compared to the Autoglym? Ive been using the Meguiars NXT shampoo for a while , I take it there will not be any compatibility issues between this and the Gold Classe wax? (will probably get Gold Classe shampoo when the NXT runs out) Also will it be ok to use the AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection after using the Gold Classe? Sorry for all the questions , and I know my car isn't a vRS or anything but I like to keep it looking nice , without going too far and spending hundreds on those exotic waxes such as Swissol (overkill on an

The paintwork is the same whatever model Fabia it is.

At the Meguiar's seminar last autumn, the word was that: Gold Class shampoo is for soft water areas, NXT is for hard water areas ('cos it contains a water softener). Also Gold Class wax suits lighter colours; NXT is best for dark. You would normally put sealants like the Extra Gloss Protection on before any wax.

Having said that, I've tried them and decided that I prefer Swissol.

Put the Extra Gloss Protection on after your Super Resin Polish and put a second coat of EGP after 24 hours, then the wax on top of the EGP.

The Meguiar's Gold Class gives a very nice wet finish but doesn't last that long compared to other waxes on the market. It is very easy to apply and remove and you can top up your wax layer every couple of months or when the beading isn't as good without re-doing the EGP.

Meg's Gold Class wax I think is probably the best wax that Halfords sell and is a good start though.

Hope this helps.
