Took front bumper off. Now i have 3 questions on what i found

Featured Replies

Ok i took my front bumper off to clean out the screen wash bottle cos it really stinks and when i removed the bumper i had a good poke about and this raised 3 questions id like to confirm with you lot if i may:

1 What is the sensor next to the n/s fog light- is it a temp sensor and if so is it for the engine management or does it give the reading you get on the dash?

2 There was a fair amount of water on the front of the air con radiator. I thought at first it maybe coolant coming through from the coolant radiator but that seems ok. If its condensation then why should it be in a big strip across the front in the middle and although its warm today ive not run my air con???

3 the pipe that connects to the intercooler has a very slight oil leak. i assume thats just residue oil in the system as there is a small cut away in the plastic just below it. Is this for oil to drip away or to check that the pipe hasnt blown the o ring in there?

1. Believe it's the outside temp sensor for the dash

2. Even when the air con is off, it's still running (albeit at very low duty cycle) - have a search there's a good explanation of how it works :D

3. Pretty sure it's just to drip away, but sure someone will be along to technify my answers :D

It's normal to see a small amount of oil on the intercooler pipework joints. They 'relax' when not under pressure.
