'07 Plate Octy - Mark 1?

Featured Replies

Afternoon All!

I've just driven back from Wakefield, and I overtook a Mark 1 Octavia (Saloon, Red) on the way out of town. Nothing strange about that - it was a diesel, and mine's a vRS. The strange bit was the number plate. It was an 07 plate.

Now, I know Skoda were still selling Mark 1's well into the production run of Mark 2's (I missed out on the last brand new vRS mark 1 and so got a 3yr old instead). I didn't realise that they were still churning them out.

Anyone else seen one?

Ben

Not seen one myself, but the Mk1's still in production for the UK taxi and provate hire trade, and for some foreign markets (India for example).

That would explain it - it had a sticker across the windscreen which could have been for a taxi, although I didn't see a plate on the back.

Just intrigued:)

Thanks for the response

Ben

It's called the Octavia Tour I think.

There is an '07 knocking about around here, I actually asked on here about it when I saw it. Saw a 56 yesterday too.

I still wonder if you can order one for a private sale though as they are very cheap compared to newer models.

yes your eyes are working perfectly. it is indeed an 07 plate mark one.

its a taxi here in wakefield and i see it most days.

My pal has recently returned from a trip to Prague, guess what was on offer in the airport to win...a yellow MK1 vRS ;)

I saw a taxi on an 07 plate today aswell

not seen an 07 - but there are loads of 56 plate mk1s round here as taxis...

I thought they'd stopped making them as I'm seeing an awful lot more mk2 taxis now. Guess I must be wrong though!
