Had my '53 plate vRS for 18 months, it clocked 50k miles just yesterday, and this morning I had an engine management light come on. Quick scan with VAG-COM gave this:

17704 - Error in Mapped Cooling System (usually temp Sensor or Thermostat)

I can see there's lots of info on the forum for this fault, so I'll be researching it in more detail. If anyone has any other words of wisdom on this subject, I'd like to hear 'em. Presumably any VAG dealer (VW is my nearest) can sell me the temp sensor for the AUQ ? Anyone got a part number handy ?
