Just mind what you say on here as the "walls have ears" (Skoda uk is a regular visitor) and have used info from here to their advantage in the past.

Almost the same as me, slightly diff spec though, still a black estate though! Mine hopefully arrives next week!!!! :D

Wow - that's a comprehensive list of options; wouldn't it be easier to say which ones you didn't get?

TDI vRS is Skoda's cool car.

Congratulations. Sounds very much like the car I've ordered (only mine is blue).

That reminds me, it's been six weeks since I ordered it, so I guess it's time to check where it's at.

OK - the short version:

NO SatNav (1,300 squid !! and no "Accident Black Spot Warning" and it takes CDs rather than DVDs I think)

NO Active Headrests (not sure why really, but had to stop somewhere - my neck wont thank me if I'm rear-ended though)

I think that's it.

(Rear Park and Front/Rear Park are mutually exclusive)

Nice spec list, but several things to keep in mind before getting the remap of the 170BHP TDi.

Avoid superchips, and the other piece of advice is if you only drive short distances or the engine is not used across the full rev range then dont get the remap at all. Basically your new car has a DPF fitted in the exhaust, as standard you shouldnt really have any problems BUT remapped it can get clogged up with soot from the exhaust. This in itself is not an issue if the car is driven at 50MPH+ for 20mins daily as it should be enough to burn the soot off the DPF, but any less and you maybe frequenting the dealer more than you think. The DPF cannot be removed from the exhaust, ways around the technical issues are being explored but no solution has been found yet.

I have the same spec in a blue hatch. I was lucky in that I do a lot of business with Skoda Ireland and this was their first car in last September ( Boss man of Skoda Ireland was driving it). If and when you get your power remap done, let me know as I have been shopping around a lot and will have to go to the UK to get any work done.. but need a good reference

Seriously though, thanks for the advice, I had been doing some homework on the DPFs.

Oettinger is a "semi" official tuner though so if they can do it then I sure it is OK.

As for general mechanical sympathy I always wait until the oil (not water) is up to temp before thrashing a car and I always let a turbo (especially PD diesels) run gently the last few miles or if I can't disciplime myself to that, then I let it run for a few minutes before turning off.
