Have any of you been looking at the average Value of vRS's on a UK national search on the 1st page recently???

I have a lovely brand new car which I don't envisage getting rid of for a long time

why would I be looking up the values of second hand cars ?

and why should the values of these cars bother me ?

they're getting cheaper ? Good !! - that means lots of other people might get the chance to drive and enjoy one !

Here we go again.....

I'm sure there are lots of people on here who are either considering changing their Fabias or buying one so why not post up about the changes in value in things like the Autotrader or at the Auctions.

Seemed a bit harsh having a go just because you don't want or need to know!!

Read some of the previous threads started this way and you will understand that the motives are far from just being informative.

That's a brilliant way of looking at things!

I am with you!

I think the question a lot of us have is why you bother posting.

Straight to the point, I like your style, sir!

Welshy, I can

Nothing wrong with posting facts - which you can all check up on.

If it gets you all agressive then clearly its not what you want to hear but you may be thanking me for ripping off those rose tinted glasses and letting you see the light.

People buy & sell cars all the time for many different reasons so yes for those of you who will run it until it drops yes this is irrelevant however for the vast majority of owners it is certainly information that shouldnt be shrugged off.

Doesn't really matter, but even the 'Arthur Daley' rip off merchant we saw at the weekend offered

It's got nothing to do with any glasses etc. The information is relevent and interesting to a degree, but the way you have written the post (And most other posts you write) is not about "facts" it's about winding as many people up as possible, which tbh is all you seem to do. Why do you think that people need to have their "rose tinted" glasses ripped off?

It's not the information that annoys people, it's the way you get it across.

Heeyyyy,

The Grumpy underclass have got a new Welsh recruit:thumbup:

Go Guy, Grrrrrrr:rofl:

I don't care if the prices come down or not, I am not planning to change mine anytime soon, and if/when I do, it will be worth next to nothing anyway.

Ok put it like this - if your child drew a picture youd think it better than any other childs picture. When in reality it is probably exactly the same/marginally better/marginally worse (luckily noone here has Fords or Vauxhalls as then it would be tragically worse!).

Im also guessing that most people here part x their cars rather than try to sell private. Therein lies the problem by Part xing it isnt very clear what the value they give you is i.e. all your interested in is the total upgrade cost & if that means getting a rubbish part x & a huge discount then so be it or vice versa.

We all know that to get the best deal you ideally would be a cash buyer due to the fact they know exactly what the profit will be while if they take a part x the value that may get at auction may be much less or more than they expect.

Note - I think the "winding up others" in my view is purely down to the fact that they have a different view on the matter (be it correct or incorrect or purely an opinion).

Thats not what it is at all.

How is anyone supposed view that statement?

I was looking in What Car last week and was a bit concerned to see that a 3 year old 2.0 Elegance has a value

Well that is your opinion.

Ok rereading that it does sound a little bit ott as basically it is lol at others loss - mind you everyone who owns a car is suffering from this hidden cost.

I think I just like to ensure people really understand what the true cost per mile is for their vehicle otherwise its going to be an unpleasent surprise when your offered much less than you'd hoped for.

Also note - have you noticed that those Autotrader cars are not shifting that quickly, which really contradicts what others have been informed of by Sales reps who have a vested interest in getting you to believe everything they say and buy their car - otherwise they themselves are surplus to requirement.

Therefore always assume min 23% loss per year of the value of the car...

According to the What Car figures, the 1.4 16v 100 Elegance drops from
