Mk 1 Vrs Decat

Featured Replies

I am looking at a decat exhaust pipe and a blueflame part system so I can upgrade my APR remap from stage 1 to stage 2 at Awesme GTI . My question is will a decat pipe damage my turbo or any parts of the engine? I know the car will not pass an MOT so I will have to put the cat back on when it comes to test time but this isnt a problem as long as it does not damage my car .

Thanks in Advance Scott

It won't damage anything.

Also i have just been told that the ECU will go into "limp mode" and will need a custom remap to get around this . Is this so or is there another way around this i.e using vag com or something else .

Thanks scott

It won't go into limp mode but the emissions light comes on, however Custom Code Phase 2 and Revo Stage 2 both get around it so I would hope that APR Stage 2 does too.

Hi

APR can do that too

It is not all of them though and would have to check the ECU

It will fail an MOT though with the emmisions unless you know someone who can help you who does MOT`s
