i was "lucky" enough to secure a PS3 on launch and since then I have bought Call of Duty 3. Good game, graphics are OK I suppose, a bit jerky, but I'm left wanting more. I played Gears of war on my nephew's X Box 360 OMG what an awesome game! Why hasn't the PS3 got games like this?:(

I'm trying to think back to the last console launch that had "must have" games from day 1.

Quite possibly it was the PS1 with wipeout , and then before that......?

It always takes developers a year or so to get to grips with the hardware and several years more to get the best out of a machine.

Look back at the old 8 bit computers for the best examples of this and compare early C64 titles with the best releases and it's amazing how different they were

Point taken, I just hope the developers deliver. I'm looking forward to Metal gear and Gran Turismo, but i hope there will be a new genre which will blow everything else into the dust....

call of duty 3 on ps3 aint that great its much better on the 360 . resistance is a decent game though ..gears of war is a great game only let down by being so short but gears of war 2 will be even better but is a 360 exclusive again i think . the ps3 has got to start putting some great games out im playing my 360 more than ps3 due to the lack of any good games on ps3

I've been playing the Wii to the exclusion of the PS3. It's just such a fun, well designed, acccessible console. I'm well impressed.

the wii is a great console most people think that its just for kids but when there is a few people its great fun and a good laugh:D

If they release Paper Mario sooner it will be even better.

People wanting a platform game thats both 3D and 2D now have all they want.

Hence why i want it now

I have Motorstorm which IMHO is a hoot. It looks pretty nice and the physics and manic racing make it a laugh. Even better online

F1 is a big let down for me - as my steering wheel doesn't work with it, although it does work with the GTHD demo.

I have RR7 which is of an acquired taste, but I like it. And at 1080p it is incredibly slick.

The downloadable games aren't that bad. I bought Tekken online and that's good but damn hard to learn, but I'm just carp at fighting games.

Also bought Blast Factor which is an asteroids-like arcade space shoot-em-up.

And for the kids, there's always Rub-a-dub

seriously though, I'm hooked on elder scrolls: Oblivion and Virtua tennis. I've hardly touched motorsotrm, CoD3 and resistance.

It's a little bit like final fantasy, in that you have a number of quests, but it's more like a medievil role playing game, sort of a cross between the two. The playing area is massive, if you are not sure, see if you can rent it from blockbuster or similar first.
