Extremely pee'd off that the drive shaft assembly I need 1JO 407 272 BR is on back order from the factory and this is also the case for the same item from VW & Audi.

Dealer in Edinburgh has five outstanding orders for this part. Seems ridiculous that something which should be a stock item isn't.

Now trying to see if my wee brother in Prague can get them locally and hopefully cheaper including carriage as dealer want

Outrageous in this day and age, I got a driveshaft assembly from Parts Factor in Edinburgh but when it arrived it was for a two wheel drive version and they couldn't get it into their heads that it wouldn't fit as that was the part they had listed:mad:

I remember a guy having a similar issue with springs, for a 4x4 IIRC, a while ago.

Its not like there aren't a few motors out there that use this part.

Could get all manner of two wheel drive bits but it's like the search for the holy grail when it comes to 4X4! :soapbox::rant:

Shocked and stunned went in to Chatham Skoda in Edinburgh on full on rant mode (slight abuse of uniform as well!) and stone me if the drive shaft didn't appear today!:eek:
