Furby unwanted extras nobody told me about

Featured Replies

I got my "new" to me bright yellow Furby VRS on Friday

I have been followed four times this weekend by BMW's with red stripes and lime green doors, tailgated by the second one and pulled by the fourth

I was no where near any limit, dare not try it out as SWMBO was with me going for the shopping, and I am err treading on eggs as for points at the moment

Why do I find this unusual, well I have had company cars for the past thirty years, all the cheapest crap the company would supply (fiestas micros, 206's) And I worked for a sevice company servicing pub and club equipment

In over 1.5 million miles I had only been stopped once, and that was driving out of a pub carpark at midnight,Christmas time after repairing the Karaoke

They followed me for two miles then blue and two, have we been drinking sir

WE I Do not know about you but I havn't, oh a commedian have we, etc

So thirty years 1.5 million miles one pull and that was at christmas time driving out of a pub car park

Four times in my Furby and I have only had it three days

Theory, they check the reg, find it is reg to an old man, and want to check out just who would buy a bright yellow VRS at my age

Well FU I did and I like it

Must have been the 'warming up ' tyres routine - a la F1 that did it ;)

I'm 55 and haven't been stopped / given funny looks - but then again I do have a baby face :)

Imagine if you'd bought an Impreza :D Some of my mates get pulled almost daily

No bother yet with my Furby, but it usually has a learner box on the roof and they tend to leave us alone.

Then again, I didn't get a single pull in 3 years and 60k miles in the Scooby, and I seriously deserved it at times

Perhaps plod knows something about the cars previous owner's driving style / habits and don't know that someone new has bought it?

Mmmmnn food for thought!

I have found some info on the car today, that has raised some queries

I bought it from a Skoda Dealer, one owner from new, on the docs too

Adding the bits and bobs that you do and checking everything out I checked

the spare wheel, it has a receipt issued two weeks ago, for two front tyres

at DOVER and the receipt details are definately not the owners (maybe the passenger paid)

The price was frightening two tyres , valves and balance

I've been out in my Fabia vRS at all hours of the day and night (even sometimes wearing a.. a.. baseball cap ) with no bother at all from the boys in blue... :)

Not doing very well are you. I am the master of pulling... :P

I have been followed home from work by police several times mind it is 2 in the morning some days depending on my shift. was once stopeed and asked what i was doing at that time, I explained and was asked DOB, house address age etc, after all wsa made clear he was just checking I asked "what he was doing with all the details I had given him" he replied I already had them was just making sure everything was correct and car was not stolen. i know you are insured and the car is registered in your name. Don't know if that was a good thing or bad.

All that info is now availible thru the PNC , via your reg plate.

The receipt could be for some tyres for an unrelated car... a project car or similar maybe?

I got pulled once in the vRS, and was lucky to get away with a warning.

*Note to self, not all black Octavia vRS drivers want to race, some are police cars... :P

we have 4 unmarked octy vrs mk1 police cars in hereford

Most likely is another local driver with a similar car thats known to drive enthusiastically, so they may be picking on you too... Or maybe its just (bad) luck?

Hmmm, If I recall - Star Performance had / have a Yellow Fabia vRS remapped to 215bhp or there abouts. It went like stink around Knockhill, but wouldn't suggest that it was driven the same way on the street. Needless to say I've heard of coppers stopping cars just cos they like the look of them :)

From my experience the Fife coppers have a habit of stopping motorists routinely at night just to see where there going etc...
