Installing Maxi-Dot

Featured Replies

I installed maxidot in a scoda octavia rs tfsi. All you need is 4digit code for the old and the new dashboard. Then you folow the specific procedure with vag com and thats it. All cabling is there. If you have navi you will need a cable that transmits data from navi to dashboard.

Thanks for the extra information  Do you get the full Maxidot functionality?

If this is the same on UK spec cars then I assume I would need this extra cable for the MFD2 (as I fitted it after delivery) to link to the maxi dot dash pod. Or is this not the same as the Stream Head unit displaying Radio Station & CD information on Maxidot:confused: ? Anyone know a part number for this cable IF i need it?

I think we are getting nearer to the answer!:)

Thanks again

Its the same cable

Thanks :D

Unfortunately my dealer can't narrow down which dash pod I need as it needs to be vRS TFSI specific (there are several part numbers and he can't narrow it down). He recokons I would need the chasis number from a UK 2.0l TFSI vRS with a factory fit Maxidot so he can cross reference on the parts system

Still I'm getting closer

I'm sure somebody on here can give you the part number.

What is this maxi dot business, whats it look like?

Thanks Stu,

Sorry it's taken a while to respond, but My PC is all going a bit Pete Tong & I can only get onto the net every now and then!

Any idea about the "cable" to link MFD2 to maxidot pod? I'm going to price up and see how it looks cost wise. Then if it's still ok, i'll risk it! Would be happy to let you know the how's and why's if it comes off!!

Cheers Again

I don't know if there is any cabling missing.

Hmmmmm...... I will try and have another chat with the parts manager! I think our dealer is still uncertain about doing this! I get a lot of comments from the service manager about how you "shouldn't be able to re program a new dash pod" etc. Ironic when he used to work for VW and replaced a dashpod & re programed it with correct mileage on my last Bora!!
