Removing an Octavia factory fitted Sat Nav.

Featured Replies

Hello Experts,

I have a 54plated Octavia VRS, ordered from Skoda with the factory Sat Nav fitted, as of late the unit has stopped mapping satellites, I'm almost positive that the receiver cable has dropped off the back of the head unit; however I have a dilemma on how to get the head unit out.

Had anybody removed theirs, or fitted one? I'm sure the release catches are on the LHS, & RHS of the unit respectively, but I can't seem to find any info or pics of a removed unit so that I can see the mechanics, can anybody help? Also if you know what style of removal keys are needed then this would be great.

Many thanks

Pete Huws.

Thanks again!!

bit of a numpty question, but how do you get the head unit and tray out once the facia is off?

Read the guide on the link posted above by Stu

Either use the proper tools, or I used a nail file when I couldnt find my tool to uninstall my car kit ready for my MK2.

And guess what i found AFTER removing the kit?
