vrs insurance with remap

Featured Replies

My VRS is due for renewal of insurance i'm nearly 24 have 5years NCB, IAM member, no accidents, no points but not found a good quote yet infact most are dearer than last year!

I was really looking forward to the possibility of a remap but I'm not sure if anyone will insure me for a sensible price with a remap :-(.

Any one out there my age had any joy? tips?

Not your age, but try Chris Knott (via the banner ad) or Adrian Flux as they both deal with modified motors and I've got decent quotes from them in the past. Trouble with the remap is you're increasing power by 20+% so most insurers will sting you.....

Chris

Give Brentacre a call, i've been with them 10 years now and have never found cheaper, or if I have they've beaten the price. When you call tell them you are interested in a modified policy....They base these on a power limit allowing you to modify absolutely anything as long as you inform them of the changes.

My quote at the time from elephant of a standard vrs was 350, when i mentioned 'chip' and 'remap' they refused. Then got it at 550 so went up 200 due to the superchip fitted.

DirectLine were similar. They quoted an extra

lol, I'm paying

How old are you Babs?

What remap?

;)

I'm 21 (20 when started the policy), 1 year's NCB, license for 3 years

this November, should be in the region of

Avoid Adrian Flux, cheap to meet the legalities but you'll never see the policy documents until chased AND they'll try and wriggle out of any claim.

Try

Well not got it chipped but considering it.

Am 23yrs old with 5yrs Protected NCB and 1 non fault accident - Directline

I'm with Brentacre too, in my first year I paid

The reason for the premium increase could be down to all cars being re-grouped in the last few months, and the bad accident history that the fabia vrs appears to be developing will not help either.

My old rather modified octavia vrs was insured through Adrian Flux, as was my Boxster and current Octavia. Adrian Flux are a broker, so if you have issues with them it maybe due to who is underwriting your policy, not Adrian Flux themselves. I have always found them a pleasure to deal with, and competitivly priced.

 Here's the number for Brentacre in case anyone wants it - 01792 650933, it's probably best to speak to John or Ceri as they're both very helpful.

I pay just over

I pay just over

DirectLine and Tesco were excellent on my Scooby. All mods declared and cost us an extra
