All of a sudden my immobiliser light on the daskboard (the orange one of the key in the car) has started to flash sometimes when I start the car. Switching off the ignition and turning it back on seems to cure it. I can only think this is linked to the fact that the mrs dropped my car keys a couple of weeks ago, and now there is a rattle from the key.

It is sort of the same as this thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/diagnostics-vag-com/1998-octavia-immobiliser-problem/58539/?highlight=Immobiliser, but my engine has never failed to start, or engine cut out. The light just sits there flashing at me. Switching off and restarting fixes it.

Any Ideas, don't really want to get stuck somewhere.
