Two new threads in one morning - I'm on fire today

I've been looking at my lovely black mats, and it looks like they're already starting to get worn where the heels go. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, have they done anything about it?

I was thinking about getting a steel kick-plate and fastening to the mat where it's likely to get most wear. Any other novel suggestions?

The mats allways wear where your feet go , just one of those things , best just to let it go , you could allways order another set of mats when they finally wear too much.

I'm not 100% sure , but for some reason the figure of

Seriously I have the same problem as I tend to wear proper shoes rather than trainers, I did see TT driver once who had some very lightweight driving shoes that were much better than trainers will keep my eyes open for a pair. I also have thought of having a plate fitted, there was also a post about better mats being available on a Skoda post on Vwvortex, think it was RSpikalou that named the company and web address.

When I got mine I bought one of those metal plates that you can bolt to the mat. It cost about 15-20 pounds Irish at the time. Cheaper than a new set of mats !

I was keeping an eye out for a thin sole shoe (puma seem to do one, not seen it in a shop) My climbing approach shoes are past there best now, but very comfey for driving.

Of course normal driving trainers, shoes (slipppy soles :shock: )

If anybody sees or does not rate these puma driveing clone shoes can you let me know...just saw em and thought they looked like a viable candiate for the boot over 70 quid approach shoes.

i like the idea of light driving shoes, but personally, can't be arsed with them. i'm not too bothered if the mats wear. however, always find that a good stiff brush often brings up the slightly flattened pile ( temporarily, it must be said ).
