Been to launch evening, Seen, Driven and Bought......

Featured Replies

...a 1.2 2 in Silver. Will be ready in about 3 weeks.

Took a drive in a 1.4 3. First impressions are that it drives very nicely. Seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room in the back. Does look better in the metal. Its my wifes car and she was very happy in it. Loads better than the Fiat Punto I was also looking at. Can't wait now.

Got a good trade in on our old Felicia to help bring the cost to change down:thumbup:

Andy

Sounds like you may have one of the first ones on Briskoda.

Congratulations!

Blimey - good work mate

Bought on launch night eh? The dealer must have loved you! Hope you milk them for mats, flaps and a tank of fuel :P - oh, and some flowers for the other half

Congrats though - look forward to seeing pics.

Steve

I had flowers when I picked up my vRs lol

I popped in before the evening festivities yesterday, had a chat with the salesman who sold me my vRS, had a look around a few cars.

First impressions was that it looks smaller than I thought it was going to be, but plenty of room inside, I can sit behind my self. Interior trim seems of better quality, and a better fit too - and it's not as if the Mk1 had bad trim!

I like the look of it, it's less angular than in the pictures, and has got better proportions.

Good luck with the buy!

Well done!!

Popped into the dealers in Ashford last night on the way home, (launch day is sat).

First impressions were that it's a really good looking car. Like Babs said, It's smaller than I imagined too, I'm 6 foot and had plenty of room in the front and the salesman was 6' 4" and he had enough room in the back too.

The 'A' pillar seems to be closer to you than before, not sure what that would do to the overall visability?

Build quality and fit 'n' finish are top notch, equal if not better than some VW cars.

Bring on the vRS I say.

Got an invite for Saturday so will have to see if I can have a play in one

why buy a 1.2 "2", but test drive a 1.4 "3" ?

were you not able to get a shot in the flavour you were going to buy ?

Been talking to the dealer and we will pick up the new Fabia on Friday. Checked on the insurance and no premium increase on the old Felicia, which came as a surprise. Basic cost after taking NCB into account is about

I think so , Andy. (A good sig tho , eh? '1st new Fabia owner on Briskoda'! :) )

I haven't seen one on the road yet , in fact I havent seen one at all , except in pictures!

Think you will do as time goes on, and if theres a bit of a wait then that will delay its appearance

My Mrs. got hers last week(so to speak!), Fabia 3 1.4TDI. Early days, but very pleased so far. Much livelier than old 1.9 she had previously. Delivery was 5 weeks. Yes....she ordered before release day! She test drove the old model with new engine and said that was good enough for her! We haven't seen another anywhere yet, apart from the showroom last week......

Anyone know how to activate auto locking?

Blimey, that's faith in the brand for you! Any pics?

Auto locking - should just be a case of popping back to the dealer for it, I'm sure they'd sort it gratis for you, on such a new car. Or someone with VAG-COM.

Steve

What colour did she go for? Any options?? Pics would be great , if youve got any!

Pujro, I am in Lostock so if you see a silver 1.9Tdi flashing at you it could be me!.

I saw a new Fabia in Manchester today. It looks much better in the flesh (so to speak) than on the tv.

Pujro, was your old 1.9 the Sdi version? I would be pleasantly surprised if the 1.4Tdi was better than my 1.9Tdi.

Wardy - Will try and sort a couple of pics though shift work makes a bit awkward at the mo. Dealer reckons they'll set the autolock thing for nowt.

Dmac1969 - It's the launch colour, officially Tangerine Orange, but to me it's more rusty coloured! There's lots of pics on the skoda site, you must know the colour?! No extras apart from the paint, though the "3" has quite a few nice bits, rather sporty alloys, climatronic a/c, reversing sensors, cruise control, nice stereo, etc.

Georgef - yes, it was the 1.9sdi, I liked it lot, very little trouble over the 70,000 miles. We had it right from the start of the Fabia in 2000, now my daughter has it!

The 1.4Tdi has bags more get up and go, but I guess you'd expect that with about a fifth more bhp than our old 1.9 and an updated setup as well, and of course it's new!

Thanks for the interest everyone.

Cheers.

Well done! Enjoy your car! :)
