A time and a place

Featured Replies

Last Saturday I dropped my daughter off up town. Coming back, a taxi was being a bit of a prat so I gunned the Fabby past him (no other cars around). I was still travelling at some speed coming up to my right-hand turn when I noticed a 56 reg Seat Ibiza to my left - waiting to cross the road and go in the same direction I would be going.

I turned, and immediately the Ibiza was up my backside. I waited until a semi-blind bend was behind me and then gave the vRS some stick down this deserted quiet road.

I'd left him good and proper and then the quick right and quick left onto a main road came.

I joined the main road, just after a taxi had passed. Ibiza chummy was up my chuff again.

Next thing is he's gone past me and is darting to left and right, speeding up and backing off (I'm doing 30 mph), 'shucking and jiving'.

Next - and this really got me - he overtakes the taxi on the wrong side of the bollards, keeps on the right for 200 yards passing another 2 bollards on the wrong side and passing two turnings which cars could have come out of (one is particularly busy) before darting back to take the left turn which I would take seconds later.

400 yards down the road I heard a shriek of tyres, saw him skid the back end round in a part handbrake turn and then he was gone down a right turn - Thank God.

Yes, we all have a play sometimes - but there is a time and a place for it, certainly not where this guy chose to show off !

What a muppet!

Was he wearing a hoodie?

I'm pretty sure he was A*s*an - we do have a large percentage in this area, and the majority certainly do need to retake their driving test.

I, most definitely, had I a 56 reg and was young (memories), would not have mistreated it in this manner

Also, many have access to expensive machinery - and rag them like crazy :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:

If only their parents knew...............

If only their parents knew...............

probably thier car:eek:

I have heard of similar cases where the insurance has been involved and apparently the asian lads mother had gone nuts at the kid and pretty much asked which books could be thrown at him.

We have a large local Asian population - you would not believe the cars they drive, and the way they are driven..................:thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:

Its no wonder theres so many accidents. I coudn't attribute bad driving to a particular group as I see examples across the board. We all do things sometimes that we probably shouldnt but passing on the wrong side of the bollards?

I dont even do that with my blues and twos on...

Was going to suggest that driven like that it was probably stolen :thumbdwn:

REtake their tests? don't you mean "take their tests"....? the ammount in Sheffield driving without licenses is HUGE... speed cameras don't do a bloody thing to catch them either.... AND the government (idiots) have just given permission for cameras to be ANYWHERE.. doesn't have to be an accident blackspot anymore.... (watch your private road shifty...) :finger:

*throws the soapbox away.....
