It was undrivable at full power so even more power would be pointless. It's going to cost 2K just for the valve train........so I can float the valves at 9000+rpm. :D

Big port head and a lot of machining to make things fit are on the list.

I didn't realise anything was wrong until I lost compression at which point it coasted to a stop. I was really enjoying myself just before it happened.

What exactly does floating the valves entail/mean

think its were they dont have time to go back in and the piston comes up and hits them?

I am no mech tho its jus a guess

Weeeeell, it involves a lot of water......

Or

If you are stupid enough to think you can concentrate on not crashing your 400+bhp car and look at the revs (no limiter) at the same time. You get what is now known as the, look what that idiot Des has done now, effect. It's when you over rev the engine to such an extent that the valve springs are not strong enough to shut the valves quickly enough. This leaves the valves in the opening position long enough for all the pistons to come up and hit them. This usually bends all the exhaust valves and if you are really lucky it snaps the heads off. Bits of valve head are now subjected to a continuous piston bashing, destroying the cylinder head and piston. Valve heads don't like this so they look for the nearest exit, the exhaust ports looks a good bet. At the end of the exhaust ports is the exhaust manifold and spinning blade type thing better known as the turbo. The valve heads thing, well I

Oops. :rotz:
