Talking of Supertech, I recall a couple of years ago when my engine was put back together the garage was part way through the MOT, warming the engine on idle for emissions test when it developed a misfire without warning. With no apparent cause they checked compression to find one cylinder down. Head came off and a Supertech valve had snapped on the stem. Fortunately the valve stayed in position without damaging any other bits. With the exception of Des, seems these valves have some manufacturing quality control issues?

I'll second that!!

So what valves are Jabba replacing the Supertech ones with?......or are they just fitting new Supertech valves.

Hope you both get it all sorted.

Des can you do me a favour and take a couple of pics of the bars welded inside your car.;)

I had single groove valves/collets in when it failed, these have been subject to several faliures - several from seatcupra.net have had similar problems - THESE ARE NOT RELATED WITH JABBASPORT IN ANY WAY.

I'm not 100% sure what JS are going to fit back in, I have every faith in their decision though.

I intend to get the Schrick valves, springs and retainers from Jabba but only cos I have seen some bad reports about the Supertech set up. The only down side is they are twice the price of the Supertech sets.

I spoke to Mike (@ Jabba) last week about valves and he recomends the Schrick valves. I did notice your car there but thought nothing of it. I'm sure they will sort it for you.

See if you can find out what valves they are going to use now.

Cheers for that bit of info Des!!! I was up there on Wednesday.

I will speak to Mike or Brian first thing Moday morning and ask the question.

It would make (better) sense if they put a different make of valve in rather than use more Supertech ones, it's Jabba's reputation at the end of the day, not mine.

Any update on this Des?

Yep!

The car is sitting on the drive doing nothing as I have lost interest, or should I say my interests are focused elsewhere. Bit of a waste realy, needs someone with a bit more enthusiasm.

 That wasn't the update I was looking for!
