Undertray or sump guard or engine protector

Featured Replies

I ripped the plastic undertray on my Octavia as I drove over a bump. It hasn't fallen apart completely yet but I thought I'd better get a new one sooner rather than later. :(

Do you know where I could get a plastic undertray, or possibly some sort of a metal engine protector? I know the dealer might have them but I'd like to have a few options.

Thanks

PS I just got a call from a SKoda parts dealer from SHeffield -

I've never had one.

There have been mentions on here before about them. They are available as they are fitted to police octys. They are not cheap

had a price from the stealers the other week

Yeah, I am worried about causing more damage than just scratching some plastic plate. I also drive a Jeep and sometimes when I'm in my Octavia I do forget that 30mph is too fast to go over a speed bump. I have to concerate, though, if I want to avoid trouble. I'll let you know what I got.

Diesel trays are larger than the ones for petrols, iirc, and as your details show 110, I guess your a TDi.

The metal undertray is I believe quite heavy and requires some special inserts into the underside of the car.

I got all of the bits for my metal sump guard from the dealers.

Still not got around to fitting it though...

Dealer didn't have the right tools :(

The parts came to about

I think their the same, but theres an extra part for the diesels, it's a sheet of sound proofing that clips to the top (engine side )of the metal guard.

Sorry - I was talking about the plastic guides - that the diesel one is, iirc larger. No idea if the sizes differ for the metal one, but yes I would agree there is a seperate sounbd proofing bit to add if you have a diesel.

IIRC from investigating the tray for the 110TDI and petrol cars are the same, but the derv has some extra sound deadening material attached to it.
