Make sure they run through everything on the car when they hand it over, and make sure there's no bumps or scratches anywhere... check when your first service will be so you're not surprised.... if you have to take things easy for the first x00 miles, etc...

Check the car in daylight whilst it is dry. If that is not possible, then you run a bigger risk of missing scratches or dents. And if you've checked it, check it again... it is your 2nd biggest purchase (if you happen the be a house owner) and you should not be rushed of the forecourt.
