Looking to buy Fabia Vrs

Featured Replies

Hello all, after getting a new job and having a longer motorway journey to work my petrol costs are crippling me, so i have decided to get a diesel, and after much reading and information searching i have decided on a Fabia Vrs, as it seems to check all the right boxes.

And then i came across this private sale one, it just seems a bit to good to be true compared to the others, what do you guys think ?

there are some for sale on here privatly you will probably get a better deal.:thumbup:Great choice of car tho.

Price seems low for such a low mileage model. The Private ad states that the ECU has been remapped therefore invalidating (if)any remaining warranty.

It does not mention how much BHP or Torque it is producing as a result of the remap, I would be inclined to check the state of the clutch on a test drive. Furthermore a remapped car I would think would have more mileage due to the smiles that they bring

Why not check out the for sale section on this site to see if there is anything suitable?

HTH

Last one seems too good to be true and it probably is, unless convinced otherwise. Would say what ever VRS you go for make sure all documents are present complete with full service history. Have a look at the owner too, if he looks like me it probably has been an abused but, i may add well looked after example .If the cambelt change has not been done then it`s gonna cost you later on. Good luck and yes the VRS ticked all the boxes for me.

I bought a 53 VRS (Reged in Jan 04) Revo remap and leather seats worth

I would steer clear of the bottom one. Something is not right there. Unless it's been involved in a minor accident.

Thanks for confirming my fears, something about that car set alarm bells ringing and in my experience something thats seems to good to be true probably is.

Anyway i have had a look in the cars for sale section and theres one there that definitely fits the bill, just hope i can sort out a loan before its gone heres hoping.

That bottom one sounds a bit dodgy , at that age and milage it should be up for around

As posts above - avoid the private sale, personally I wouldn't buy a remapped Vrs unless I knew everything about the cars history. Also remember to look around the cars carefully before you buy them - dealers often seem to miss off some of the extras such as a CD Changers, Cruise Control etc from their descriptions. I found a CD changer in my Vrs once I got it home!

I think this is exactly what the vast majority of buyers think so a warning to those who have mapped their cars it will take longer to shift or will appeal to a very small market place.

This bank hioliday weekend - didnt see one out on the roads.... maybe in my home area they are common and up near bath/bristol they are non existant.

"thank you for your interest 2004 SKODA FABIA VRS,

I've almost reached an agreement with a local potential buyer. Unfortunately, it looks like there are some problems and he doesn't have all the money to pay, for the moment. Therefore, if you are willing to pay the buy-it-now price 5,000 GBP, I'm ready to start this transaction with you.

First of all you should know that the car has a clear HPI, it's in excellent condition, like new, mechanically and aesthetically intact, no damages, no hidden defects. This Skoda has only 18k original miles. It is in pristine condition. In addition this Skoda VRS has been adult owned, driven and always garage kept. It's a UK machine with UK specs and right handed drive. Overall interior is pristine throughout, no rips, tears, burns, stains or worn spots anywhere. It has never been smoked in.

I'm located in Croatia for the moment. I spend a lot of the time in UK with business but I have my family here in Croatia. I took the car with me here a few weeks ago. I'm willing to ship it from here through Sea Cargo Shipping and cover the shipping and insurance fees to your location in UK. The total price is 5,000 GBP shipping included. I thought selling my Skoda through Autotrader would be a good idea, giving the fact that I need some fast cash for a new bussines that I`m starting in a few days.

I have listed the car on eBay also and if you are interested in starting the deal I would like our deal to be through eBay.

If you're further interested I can also send you some extra pictures of the car.

Please let me know your position as soon as possible"

Sent any money to Nigeria lately?
