hi is there a better quality standard panel filter you can buy instead of a skoda one i.e bosh delco etc ( not a performance one), I've had too take out my piper-cross one as my insurance won't cover it doh !!!! only had it three weeks , but i got a good deal from more than insurance that i could not refuse

To be honest, I replaced my standard one with exactly the same and I was surprised at how much difference it made. The car was more willing to rev up to the red line and it felt a lot happier. I had considered a fancy panel filter, but after being quoted for the hike in insurance,

cheers for the info i didn't notice any diffrance in performance tbh i think there only usefull if you have a re map etc

Your insurance should not charge you any more for a panel filter.

As there are no performance gains? But I could be wrong.

The only reason an in_sewer_er will charge you more for a "performance filter" is because it's too complicated for them to actually make a proper assessment of the actual gain. If they were sold as "long life" elements instead...

that's how i put it across to them i told them it was a long life filter still wouldn't have it though, more than have quoted me
