Thanks to Jabbasport I now have KW V2 suspension fitted to my Octy vRS. What a difference to standard, car seems to handle far better. All I need to sort out is the front ride height once I can find a piece of dead level ground. At the mo I think one side is slightly lower than the other (by feel at the roadside). Heres a couple of pics.

Just had a quick closer look. The passenger front is ever so slightly higher than the drivers side, as a guess might only need to drop a thread or 2.

So, do I lower that side or increase the drivers side to the same height.

Assuming I decide to drop the passenger side, Which way do I need to turn the big nut (viewed from passenger side sitting in front of wheel). Will that be

A) Start with the extended part of the spanner near the bulkhead and rotate towards bumper (clockwise) or,

Start with the extended part towards the bumper and rotate towards bulkhead (anticlock).

I would have got Jabba to sort it on Saturday but unfortunatly cant make that now due to a lunchtime baby birthday meal.

and presumably you were sat in the drivers side when you applied the handbrake?.......

Paul, I know where you are heading. Handbrake not applied, car left in 1st gear with engine off.

Little tip before you play, drive the car at night, you will tell from the headlights if the car is still level front to back compared with before you fitted the KW's, might just have an input into what you change

Apparently if you take it much lower than 45mm you risk breaking the driveshafts...

I remember **** who had a dedicated track RS had trouble with his. Worth doing a search.

Not had the alignment checked yet, will get take it down to my friendly tyre place on friday once I get the height sorted, says I hoping for a dry day friday.

Round town I would say it feels much firmer, and you really notice road humps. At motorway speed, it feels pretty much like standard except you can feel that the wheels are connected to the steering wheel. Best money ever spent.

Not really, I have it set somewhere around the middle setting. I dont know where exactly because jabba did the setup. I would describe it as firmer than standard but not bone breaking.

Drove it to work today and it feels much more planted than before, when pulling away hard from a stop I used to get lots of judder and banging from the old stuff, Not anymore.

Manny, They are good eh?

Similar view when I had mine on the 4x4. I think I got a duff unit as I managed to blow the damper, how do you find the compression on undulating roads?

Take it easy on the first test, just trying to establish how much my blown damper (maybe dampers) were contributing to the issues.

That said I think Stuart got some tip top tips for the setup.

One little word of warning whatever set up you choose, the bottom members on the rear suspension (4x4) are not adjustable so as you lower the car the camber gets worse or should I say better for cornering, worse for tyre wear. If its a problem you can get adjustable bottom links from Forge but they are

Interesting fact there, Stuart. So what's the effect on a car that's already lowered like mine?

Mind you, they were pricey lowering springs supplied by the dealer. Would he have known this and thus made the extra cost to tackle the problem?

Will be there Saturday to seek out a new Fab for Mrs D4x4, so will ask.

I would guess if yours is lowered & is Ok they must have sorted it, from memory I think I had 3-4 degrees of camber before I fitted the adjustable jobbies, handled well though !

Had the wheel alignment checked today, all 4 corners. Was spot on and didnt need touching.

I think the highest setting is about the same as the standard vRS, I have gone 40mm lower than this at the front as shown in the pics. You can go down 65mm if you want to, but to be honest then road humps are a real problem. As a guide if you put 2 fingers together verically thats about the gap between the tyre and wheel arch.

Around town, it feels firmer. Not bad, again I have it set to middle so can go softer if required. Its ok for me though, holes in the road feel the same as standard. What you do notice more is the roughness of some roads.
