Mobile phone wanted - advice needed!

Featured Replies

Well my (crap) Samsung D900 is dying, and as I've lost the proof of purchase they refuse to fix it.

So, I'm looking for a replacement handset - only has to last me til September when my contract is renewed - but if its good enough to last the new contract I'll negotiate a hefty discount on my line rental instead ;)

So, don't really want to spend more than

My company phone is a Nokia 6021, has brilliant battery life. IIRC standby is more than 7 days, and 2 days talktime. Very basic phone, with no camera. Can be bought new sim free, for around

What's wrong with the D900 Tom? I presume it's under a year old? I'd go straight to Samsung, if you're having problems with retailer/network.

If it was from orange, you dont need proof of purchase either to make a warranty claim.

I have a Nokia 6230i Bought it SIM free to go in the Merc. Been using it in preference to my Samsung D600. Lasted 6 months so far and I really like it. Got a

I've got a spare 6021 that you can have -it's unlocked and legit, just a leftover after the company upgraded us.

PM me if you're interested.

How much do you want for the old 6021 then? Sounds like its just what I need. :)

Regarding getting mine repaired: It turns itself of completely randomly. I originally had a K750i, and the insurance with my bank account changed that to the D900 when it got "lost" ;) I've been direct to Samsung (even have the postage bag for it infront of me) but they won't touch it without proof of purcase. Orange aren't interested as I'm in the 14th month of my 18 month contract - apparantly the phone only has to work for 12 months. I've since closed my "extras" bank account too, so I have no insurance.

Ho hum

Ta all.

vodafone will upgrade you 75 days before contract renewal, not sure if orange are the same

Just called Orange - contract ends in December, I can upgrade in September.

And it was a 24 month contract I signed up to - never again :thumbdwn:

if it was on contract is that not enough proof?

i'm on a 15 pound a month contract and did concider paying myself out of the contract to get a new phone.

you could downgrade to the lowest tariff and then pay off the contract, possibly?!?

youd spend that on a pay as you go phone anyway, there are some cracking deals on at the moment.

Think is I'm very happy with my current deal, don't fancy buying myself out of 6 months of contract!

As I said in my previous post, Orange didn't supply the phone, my banks insurance people did... :(
