Are these all possible in VAG-COM or MAXIDOT?

Featured Replies

I would like all these features added to my car (assuming not already standard and functionally possible - ie loom/bulb etc is there)

Are any unreasonable or impossible?

[*]ZERO odometer at PDI.

[*]Enable EXTENDED service intervals (not VARIABLE).

[*]Enable double-press remote unlock.[1 click driver

[*]ZERO odometer at PDI. Can be done - depends how nice your dealer is. No VAGCOM needed - its done with the trip reset button IIRC.

[*]Enable EXTENDED service intervals (not VARIABLE). Do you mean FIXED? If so, your dealer can do this or you can with VAGCOM.

[*]Enable double-press remote unlock.[1 click driver

Enable Coming/Leaving home lights (30 secs).Yes, Maxidot

Only if you have the auto light pack I think.

Enable BOTH rear fog lights. No - hard wiring needed.

Depends on the model number of the controller you get - I've only found one that didn't work with VAG-COM

DISABLE synchronised door mirrors (giving independent L/R operation). Only does independant as standard - unsure if it can be enable - I think not

MaxiDot or VAG-COM

Enable reverse activated auto-rear wiper / auto re-circulation. Happens by default IIRC, unsure if it can be turned off.

VAG-COM

Enable emergency braking hazard warning lights. Not sure this is available on any VAG model? Not something I've heard of other than french crap.

Yep it's in there too.

Enable brake-pad warning. Should be on as standard, again, dont think this is configurable

VAG-COM

Enable delayed flick wipe (tear drop wipe). EH? Whats this? If you mean the "courtesey wipe" (that smears a perfectly clean screen) its on as standard IIRC, and not configurable.

VAG-COM

Enable instrument binnacle “pointers” illumination to permanent ON. I've heard you can do this with VAGCOM

There was some discussion on this last week. It seems it's an Audi only thing on older Octy's but I'd need to have a look at mine to be sure.

Enable seat belt warning. On as standard - needs physical modification to turn off.

VAG-COM

Enable lane-change indicators (3 flash). Should be on as standard, again, dont think this is configurable.

Got a feeling this can be done with VAG-COM too

DISABLE mirror adjust on reverse. No longer a feature IIRC

Only on cars with electric seats

DISABLE main beam override of front fogs (if applicable).[allows simultaneous use of front fogs and main beam using cockpit controls]. No idea. Pretty sure you can use fogs and main beams together.

I'd need to look at this, there are a load of options in there with the DRL's

It seems almost all are available (dependent on hardware).

I will email dealer to set at PDI.

Thanks

I can enable/disable 3 flash indicator function through Maxidot. I have the electric mirrors that can be set to look down at kerb level on the leftside on seecting reverse. I have the electric set option too ( L&K ). The fuction works depending which postion the mirror adjustment switch is set to. I am fairly sure I can change the mirror adjustment to be together or independant through Maxidot again.

can the mirror be set to look at the kerb on a sport model?

can the mirror be set to look at the kerb on a sport model?

In the R position if you adjust downward then both mirrors will move, in the L position just the left hand mirror will move (hope that makes sense!).

You cannot have the odometer reset to zero, to do so is illegal.

That is if you have it enabled.

You also won't get the kerb view when you select reverse unless you have electric seats - L&K only AFAIK.

The 3 flash is set by default - is on mine.

Also, does anyone's Octy have the emergency braking hazard warning lights that work?

I've read the manual, and From over 60mph to an emergency stop on dual carriageway didn't put them on for me. Had to do it manually - country specific or dealer request?

Legal or not, I know it can be done - it was done on my Fabia when it was delivered to me. I thought it was common practise, especially for delivered vehicles?

It is not illegal in prior to first registration.

I worked for Mercedes-Benz and they do it almost as a matter of course for new vehicles. The only technical issue is that the odometer/ECU will not accept reset after 150kms.

I would love to have some of these options too, but my maxidot doesn't have all the options described here..

It's a 2006 Octavia RS. Is it possible to upgrade maxidot to a version with more functions? Or are they allready in there and there's a trick or something to unlock them?

/Thank you

The 2007 MY revision brought a change in MaxiDot. AFAIK it isn't possible to upgrade the software.

Oh ok. Thank you.
