phase 1 remap

Featured Replies

Hi guys, Ive got a octavia rs ( 150 bhp ) , non drive by wire. Ive been thinking abt getting a phase 1 remap from custom code, they claim a 50bhp increase in power. Is it as simple as changing the chip or would have to upgrade certain things like an air filter and a diverter valve etc.. ? Would greatly appreciate somebody updating me..

thanks

eh ? thought all the rs are 180bhp ?

They are maybe it's an indian model or iirc west indies i think they do 150s

Would be miffed if mine was 150 rather than 180.

Anyway back to the point. I know that a remap on a 180 car will put it in the 210-225 region. Although there isn't a need to do the other parts at the time, they aid the engine and do themselves free up some bhp. Standard parts are doind their job with the intended bhp, upping it may see the parts failing before they are due under the additional stresses.

Some Octy vRS's are 150 BHP in other countries IIRC

As for the re map getting just a map done you should see 210 max which if your car is 150 bhp is a good jump and you will deffinatly notice it

As above, 50bhp - 60bhp is possible from your model.

Very big increase, so you'll get good BHP per pound ;)

If as supsected this car is Indian then don't forget it's hotter there and they have lower quality fuel. Also the OP says the car is non-DBW so again doesn't get as good gains.

As for the OP's original questions; Neither the DV or airfilter are essential but both are a good idea. In particular the DV as the stock item is prone to failure even on standard cars but even more so on remapped ones.

Yeah the car is an Indian model. Could you tell me where the DV is housed under the hood ?

Its under the plastic engine cover just near where the intake pipe enters at the top right.
