Having read the thread regarding stuttering 'O6 Octavia vRS models, thought I'd throw this out and see if anyone has any ideas. I have an 02 Octavia vRS, that is almost like a kangaroo to drive at the mo. The turbo seems to spool up and discharge almost immediately, from around 2000 rpm all the way through to the red line, in any gear. It makes overtaking slightly embarrassing!! It began after a trip to the local dealer to sort out an engine management issue. It is going in for a service in about 2 weeks (not to the dealer though) but any thoughts would be appreciated.

That sounds like the well-known wastegate/dump valve problem! Best to get it confirmed though.
