Hello to you all,

I am new to the Briskoda forums- i am impressed with you so far. I have a 2001 Octy 1.8T 4X4 estate. The drivers airbag light is on and cant be extinguished. There is a connection problem between the Airbag and controller. The dealer tells me the clockspring needs to be replaced. Does anyone know how much this costs? could it be done by a competent DIYer? or is it dealer only and megabucks? Any special tools needed for this job?

I'm guessing you have ESP as its a 4x4, this means the clock spring is alo the steering anlge sensor for the ESP, this sadly bumps up the price of the part (circa

Thank you Lummox for the speedy reply. It does have ESP. I wouldn't mind tackling the job myself. I suppose it is a main dealer only part then.
