Buying 2 cars (fabia and octavia)

Featured Replies

hey

after telling my bro all about the fabia VRS and how much i want it and how good the reviews have been on it, he has started looking at a octavia VRS (as he has a family and i dont lol)

the question i wanna ask is if we buy 2 cars off a dealer the fabia and octavia VRS what type of deal do u think they would cut us, surely they should offer something we will be spending about 20000 all together

what u guys think?

Only they can answer that tbh, they may do it all depends on what they have to play with on the cars in question.

I'd say don't expect too much even though your're buying two cars. After all

cheers guys will let him no he is going tommorrow

you're asking in the wrong place. get down the dealer's and fight your corner if you're serious.

If you want to know what a dealer will offer,ASK THE DEALER.

That's how negotiating works. A dealer isn't going to metaphorically drop his pants and give you his lowest possible price there and then just because you ask for a discount.

It's only once they know you're ready to commit, but equally happy to turn and leave, that you'll get the 'best' price.

Yeah but the 1% initial discount is very very mean, as is the 3% that was later offered. :)

As too your first point, I walked in and said I wanted that car, this is how much I can get it for elsewhere, can you beat it? Discount was around 10% (very near to broker prices), and required no ****ing about haggling over a set of mats or a tank of fuel. Win win :D

xtramc, time to find another dealer.

It's not as simple as working out the % of the discount and declaring it mean or otherwise. There are numerous factors to take into account such as the salesperson and dealer's current situation regarding assorted sales targets as well as the obvious issues of supply / demand etc. As mentioned previously, a lot of will come down to whether they 'think' you are a timewaster or not (notice I said 'think').

Well done you for getting a deal you were happy with, but the ease at which the dealer drops to such a price should almost certainly prove that it isn't their best price. They're not stupid.

We'll never know how 'good' the deal we get actually is, so as long as everyone's happy with what they pay then there's no problem IMO.

Don't forget that you'll be needing twice the servicing/work done when buying 2 cars for

^ ^ Yep I agree Joe, lots of factors to consider, but IMHO 3% is still mean ;)

Maybe, maybe not.

If you look at percentages, I think I only got approx 4.5% discount when I ordered both of mine.
