Oulton Park BTCC sunday 24th June

Featured Replies

Is anyone else going to this?

The weather forecast isn't brilliant but I'm determined to see some tracks other than Donington Park.

For those of you that have been before , where are the good spots to spectate?

Tavia4x4 is marshalling. His family will be there.

Im going with my dad..

hizzys and clay hill are good spots

Thanks for that.

They looked like they'd have a decent view and from what I remember of previous years racing there should be some overtaking there.

I've been to OP a few times, and its fairly easy to walk across the infield from place to place - I tend to wander round and move spots in between races

Hmm thanks for putting that idea in my head, looks like myself and mrs.ppat might be wandering along for a days entertainment :D

On a more general note , which tracks are good for spectating , and which are pretty poor?

I've only been to Donington which is pretty decent but when I've seen other races on TV some do seem like you have to pick a spot and then you can only see one little stretch of the track.

knockhill is good donny is good. cadwell difficult in places but worth it..

I'm posting this from a hotel 3miles from the circuit. Will be there nice and early tomorrow and will be parking in the SCN designated infield parking in our Ibiza.

in case you get this on time taking lodge from where the dear lap text is is pretty good.

Well we watched a fair amount from Hizzys and had a wander round most of the rest of the circuit as well for some variety.

There was some good racing and aside from one 10 minute downpour the weather was better than the forecasts suggested.

I'm just watching the TV coverage now to see all the action that took place out of sight

Hi, Everyone I was there for the 2 days also marshaling.

Any guess' were I was.

Few close calls

It was quite an impressive crash , wasn't it.

For race 3 there were a bunch of people by me cheering for Plato as he kept trying to pass the BMW and they got quite upset when he didn't.

I agree with you , it's very much a good thing for the spectators and the sport as a whole when the lesser known drivers are in with a chance of success and he did drive very well under a lot of pressure.

Soent most of the day at cascades by the SCN fellows :) did have a wander round and up to Druids for the second btcc race, so missed the carnage, shame the safeyt car seemed to be out for nearly every race, but swmbo enjoyed it :D

I parked there too and spent most of the day there as it gave a good view of the track although we did walk round a few times. I was good to be able to watch whilst sat in the car during the downpour!
