hi unsure of of what oil to yse on my octy vrs it`s got big miles 132,000 i`ve got a 10/40 and a 5/40 but don`t know which to use it has full history and servicing has been done by the service intervals.:confused:

i`m fed up of paying garages and want to do it myself so any help would be appreciated thanks

I use Quantum Synta 10/40 semi synthetic in my 111000 mile vrs. Its a fair bit cheaper than the fully synthetic 5/40 and I have had no problems with it in 20000 miles.

i was thinking the 10/40 would be better so thanks a lot for that:thumbup:

IMO it makes no difference unless you do a lot of cold starts. 5W40 and 10W40 are the same thickness when the engine is fully warmed up.

If one is semi synthetic and one fully, I'd go for the fully as it won't shear as much as the semi.
