After tacking off my roof rack I tried to fit clips back into slots but they just fall straight through. They are brand new ones (45p each eek!)

Bloke at dealers says take off whole strip that runs length of car and fit from underneath and refit strip. Is this a simple job? Any help appreciated.

They're a bit crap really. You just have to bend them up at each end a bit before you put them back into the slot if they fall through.

If you plan to use the roof rack again, just leave the clips off.

I have for the last 12 months.

I had some fun with them myself. I've got a bag of new ones in the garage that I bought as spares because I thought I'd break them.

The support for the notched end of the clip has slid under the black rail. Using your skill and judgement, fish it out and replace the clip.
