Garage have just phoned to say my new octavia Vrs 2.0 TFSi will be ready for me to collect at 4:30 :)

But it's not come with the factory orderd sunroof:(

To hell with it going to collect it anyway...don't fancy waiting anoyher 10 weeks

Pity about the sunroof, TBH wouldn't be an issue for me.

Hmmm, only you can make that decision - I think only the minority get a sunroof tbh in these days of dualzone climate etc. I'd be pressing for the cost of the sunroof and a couple of hundred as a good will gesture - or maybe the first service free or something... ;)

If you ordered a sunroof and it hasn't come with one, play merry hell! Of course don't pay for the sunroof and has has been written earlier, get something off them for free!

What's a sunroof between friends - you want to stay friend with your dealer, don't you?

IMHO you need refund of the cost of the roof

The trend these days seems to be away from the older tilt and slide rectangles towards larger glass sunshine roofs. I can see how these could benifit a car, but the older style sunroofs as on my old Golf, well I can't see a need for them these days. However, this is a very personal judgement. If you wanted one and haven't got one I would be looking for something else instead as a goodwill compensation type thang. Certainly would want a price adjustment to reflect the lack of what I sighned the contract for. Depends how you want to approach it with the dealer. Trouble with some of the extras is that they are factory fits. However, a good dealer should want to do right by you!

 get at least 500 off the price as its there mess up:thumbup:

i wouldnt really miss mine if i didnt have it (as long as i still had climatronic of course)

I'm with others here and don't miss a sun roof and the Climatronic is excellent. But you do miss it and you desperately wanted the sun roof for the light and airy ambience it lends to the cabin and the fresh air when you don't need a/c bla bla bla.

You could try asking for a free 10 week loan of a their demonstrator vRS while they re-order the car for you. Ask to deal with the dealer principal.

There's a fairly good chance they might not want to do this for you so a simple refund of the sunroof money plus a quick but useful wedge for the inconvenience will be a better alternative for them.

I had an issue when I bought my vRS and ended up settling for a box full of Skoda service items, oil, filters, spark plugs, brake cleaner, a veritable treasure chest for the next couple of services. These would have cost me more than I could have got in terms of cash.

So roof money back and cash or roof money back and BIG box of goodies. What a reasonable bloke you are! ;-)

I was probably soft but in the end the car looked so nice I settled for refund and full tank of fuel
