Dont think people uprate the KKK units. Hybrids are based on the Garretts from the golfs.

Did they say how long it would take to get one? Would they fit it?

Take it you got back alright then? Has the garage said when they'll get a chance to look at it?

Good luck mate.

Hmm so I could get a Garrett one from a PD150 or something? They said it would take a couple of days to get a KKK, same as Allard with their VT2. I'm looking at the end of the week earliest before car is running :thumbdwn:

Worst thing is, car went BANG in a dodgy part of Oldham. I was with three asian girls and the area doesn't like us very much. When I rang Skoda Assistance, not only could they not find my car details on the DVLA link, they said they'd only take me back to one place and they wouldn't give the others a lift back to Oldham (10 mins down the rd). Got the car back home in Liverpool but now I'm not sure if they'll take it to a garage for me and if they'll lend me a hire car till mine is fixed.

Dont think its a straight bolt on job if I remember from Ross. Think the compressor wheel needs to be rotated.

Buy my turbo off me and I'll buy a PD150 one :P

Irf, have you had your turbo removed yet? There may be extra damage to the engine depending on what's failed with the turbo.

It'll be a pair of hours I would imagine to do a Turbo. Inlet manifold has to come off first and you'll need some new gaskets.

The turbo I've got I think is probably the KKK unit, but please check with Shifty as it came from his car, I just took it in exchange for the stage 1 hybrid. Annoyingly that particular stage 1 hybrid was damaged when the engine in his car had a bad failure, which ain't a good thing :(
