Polishing the windscreen

Featured Replies

Aside from putting a hammer through it and claiming for a new one, is there a way to help an aged windscreen look a little more youthful? I've got some Tcut scratch remover cutting compound sdtuff and was tempted to give that a bash but was afraid it may be a bit harsh and leave it cloudy.

It's not for removing chips....I know nothing can do that, but it's for the little imprefections you can see in direct sunlight, and swirls too.

Any ideas?

Tried AG Glass Polish???

Not tried any kind of product to be honest. Any suggestions are welcome. :)

I remember someone telling me toothpaste was good at removing light scratches from watch faces a while back but I don't fancy squirting Colgate all over my Furby to be honest. :D

You could try starting with a clay bar, and see what that does.

Jewelers rouge.

Heard Autosol works well on light scratches in glass.

* Never tried it myself so proceed with car *

Other than that AG Glass Polish and Mer Windscreen Cleaner have been good for me, the latter especially so.

I was cleaning the windscreen rubbers on my octavia, had just removed the wiper from the car and accidentally hit against the wiper arm, result smashed windscreen, result new windscreen , cost me

Halfrauds glass cutter

it's like t cut for glass

I just use window spirit to get it all clean, then use Rain X, works for me.

i found yesterday with all the cleaning stuff i used on the windscreen it was leaving white marks with the wiper blades. But today i found while removing insects from the windscreen the autoglymm insect remover does a flippin good job of cleaning the windscreen and keeping it clean :)
