Got my first ding on day 1 of ownership, ding 2 -day 2, ding 3 - day 3, after that I just thought sod it and I am now more relaxed about it. By the way hit three birds the other day, no damage but what do you reckon the odds are on that?

accepted cars are getting bigger - but spaces are getting smaller.

evidence of this can be seen where the council(s) now charge for parking and in an effort to make more money out of you, me and everyone else make the spaces smaller to squeeze one extra car in the car park.

If you don't believe me, go to your local (un)friendly council run car park and look at the painted lines, where they are now, and where they used to be.

I noticed it recently btw in MK....there the cheeky bar stewards had made the 'pay for' parking spaces smaller and the free spaces bigger.....thereby giving more spaces to pay in and less for free....

Cynic, me ?

The easy answer of course just keep driving about - never parking anywhere!!

But, even weirder, his son is a local repairer/sprayer who does a lot of work that has to pass muster for insurance assessors, and has offered to do a free first rate job [i hope!!] if I don't go through insurance.

I think I'll go back to bed and start the day again!

You're a braver man than me. I would NEVER accept an offer like that. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

the trick I have learnt from my boss is to park away from other cars and park across two spaces with the white line in the middle of the car

LOL, nope, a partridge on a country road then 2 sparrow type of things on the motorway. I never try and dodge wildlife and I just call home and tell them to turn the oven on.

Further to my own supermarket damage, my Octy has just been collected for its free repair - I'm not sure if I'll breath till I get it back tomorrow!

The outfit doing it is called "Extreme Bodies" [no funny comments please!] in Brighton. But I've got the other guy's insurance details now and if the job isn't A1 I'll go back to square one and make a lot of noise to the other bloke's insurers. Thank goodness for witnesses!
