The life of my old Citroen ZX ended due to the pulley on the cambelt going and instead of trying to get it running, I cut my losses.

Sorry to Madmax who is already on here, I always use Madmax and can't think of anything else.

I am interested in some performance mods (After the warranty ends in 3 years) but I'm mainly interested in stereo.

Welcome to the site - That is a LOT of ICE to go in the Octy isn't it... Not sure the gaps in the trim are big enough to get all the wiring needed for that lot in it.

Picked the car up Friday and covered 450 miles. I've done over 300 on one fill up and still got 3/8s to go on the petrol gauge. I'm not flooring it and not going over 3k, but I'm still damn happy and have hit 110mph (indicated) so far. Its damn comfy and the power is amazing (coming from a crap 1.4 ZX) and I can't wait till my 1000 miles is up

Only slight problem is a squeek coming from behind me :(

If it's a brand new Octavia (which I think it is) and you have a squeak coming from behind you, check out the rear seats. Pound to a penny the locators at the base of the seatbacks is not secured. For some reason, loads of Octys have been getting to dealers in this state. I endured about 2 or 3 weeks of it until I found the source of the noise! I'm sure a few others on here have had the same problem but I haven't been able to search for them yet (which search-words to use? creak, squeak, rattle ).

Anyway, welcome and let me know if the noise goes away!

Oops, meant to add, you don't have to go back to the dealer, just push the seatbacks down into their locators.

Yup, worked for me ! Just the rattling handbrake lever to fix now (new one ordered).

...and to think I was happy with just three.....

But one is a 6 channel, one is a 4 channel and a 2 channel.

Will sound better than my ZX though.

As crap as the standard stereo sounds, I really do like the AIM feature and the stereo controls on the wheel. Has anyone found wiring adapters to make them work with aftermarket stereos? All I have found is JVC.
